I was MC at a conference last week. During the event there was the standard Sponsor Presentation. They knew it, the audience knew it and the organiser knew it.
As the sponsor started speaking, you could see the audience disengage, and sit there thinking, “They’ll be finishing soon and we have to have them as they are sponsors.”
If you ever sponsor an event and get the opportunity to address the attendees, it is important to remember that the presentation is not about you. No one cares about you, your product or what you are trying to achieve.
Remember, it is all about them.
Focus your presentation on the problems that you solve, the pain you address, and the value you they bring. If you do it well, they will be lining up to meet with you during the break.
