I came across an interesting blog article today on how to boost trade show traffic. An interesting read where 15 difference experts in the industry give their perspective on what works.
My favourite comment was, “There is no silver bullet or we would all be doing it.”
We have always said, there is no one way to exhibit. Successful exhibiting and event sponsorship is all about trying different strategies and then measuring their success. You then have another check point to try a new idea and repeat the “Measure and tweak” approach.
Successful exhibiting is not dependent on “One thing”, it is a combination of many things. The biggest keys to success are:
Have a plan: To often people seem to “wing it” – this is a guaranteed way to burn your money.
Measure your results: You need to measure against your original goal/plan and see how you went. Only then can you tell if it was successful
Break it down: There are three specific time frames; Before, During and After. Each one of these timings has separate activities required. Take advantage of this. Each time frame is important and can not be missed.
Train your team: Your team on the stand the the only interface that you have with customers, prospects and members of the public. You MUST know that they are prepared and focused on your goals.
Follow Up: the Centre for Exhibiting Industry Research has shown that 70% of leads are not followed up. If this is the case, then why are you there? This is where the money is. Follow up, Follow up, Follow up.
We have personally made tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of dollars from Exhibiting and Event Sponsorship. Our clients have done even better. We KNOW it works.
